November 24, 2017 - At 2020 hours Little Fork's Volunteer Technical Large Animal Rescue Team was dispatched to assist Fauquier County for a "Donkey Caught in a Fence". Dr. Marley assisted the rescue, providing sedation and wound care for "Jack" the guard donkey. He had escaped his farm and had been "visiting" all of the neighbors. On his way back home he took a short cut through an adjoining property. He failed to notice the cattle guard and managed to go halfway across and fell through with all four legs. Jack was attempting to free himself and attempted to bite anyone who came close. The vet and one of the Little Fork technicians managed to get bitten during the rescue. Luckily he did not break anything and had some minor cuts and bruising. Dr. Marley and the technician also managed not to break anything and had some minor bruising. -See Little Fork's Volunteer Technical Large Animal Rescue Team Here! |
